Building Character: Journal 52

Another week, another adventure!  I am participating in Chelle Stein’s Journal 52 project on Facebook.  Each week a different prompt is given and each participant creates an art journal page that corresponds with the prompt.  So much beautiful work is being created, art techniques are shared, support given and creative energy explodes.  If you are interested in learning more details, visit Journal52.com

With no further ado, I present Building Character:  Reputation vs. Character

Mixed Media art journal page. Stencil, distress inks, sharpies, watercolor crayons

I decided to interpret the piece as a shield containing the qualities that I consider integral to character:  authenticity, kindness, love, courage, strength, vulnerability and light.  I also incorporated the following quote from The Help:

You is kind, you is smart, you is important.

What do you consider important components of character?  Share with me in the comments.
