PTSD And The Lasting Effects of Abuse

As many of you who have read my blog for awhile know, I am a mental health advocate, mental health 1st responder, certified peer support specialist and healing artist.  I do this work because it matters, because the work gives purpose to the pain of lived abuse experience.  I do the work because only by removing the mask and  educating the public does change occur.

Recently, I was honored to have my work selected for a feature article in Art Saves Lives International’s latest e-magazine issue.  In the article, I speak frankly about life with complex PTSD and mental health challenges, the role of art in my in saving my life and my passionate self care and the power of expression to heal.
